Wicked Intentions

It is very important to know who you are up against. In 2 Corinthians 4:4(NLT) says, "satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News (Jesus Christ). They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God".

You are up against satan and his legions, so you are always going to face battles because he controls the earth, most people are blinded to Truth about the Word of God. That in itself is an oxymoron. The Truth about the Word of God is That the Word is the Truth (Jesus Christ). (See John 1:1 & 14; John 17:17). Psalms 34:19(NKJV) says, many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He will not leave you stranded. You have to learn how to live a victorious life through Jesus Christ, and it is through the Word of God.

The Apostle Paul in his Epistle that he wrote from prison to the Church in Ephesus gave a clear outline on how to overcome the enemy. This is just one of the awesome gifts that God left with us to help us overcome the enemy, if we only follow the guidelines.

In Ephesians 6:6 (NLT), Put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

There are criteria. Pray in the Spirit of God at all times. God asked you to stay alert, and be persistent in your prayers because the enemy will not back down against you. he has nothing but "wicked intentions" planned out against you. Keep praying even for your brothers and sisters because they too are being afflicted.

But in verse 13, Jesus Christ asked us to gird our loins with the belt of Truth (Word of God/take on the character of Christ), and in verse 17 again, He says take up the Sword of the Spirit (Word of God/Speak it against the enemy). He made mention of the Word of God twice but in 2 different concepts, to be used in 2 different ways. The Belt of Truth as the logos Word, Living Word),and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the (Rhema Word/spoken word). Importantly put on the shield of faith. Hebrews 11:1,"Without faith it is impossible to please God". In the armory the Word of God is a very powerful weapon mentioned twice but each is intricately interwoven.

Remember the devil is already judged. In John 16:11, "Judgment will come because the ruler of this world (satan) has already been judged", but you still have a chance for eternal life through Jesus Christ. He has one aim, and that is to take you with him but do you want to go? That choice is yours. God made every man a free moral agent. Stay alert, and watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Don't be devoured. Remember each day as you are about to start your journey, put on your whole armour; so that you may be able to stand against the "wicked intentions" of the enemy.

My Prayer

Father, I thank you for loving me enough, to protect me from the attacks and plans of the enemy. Help me to always keep armoured through your Word, so that I can live a victorious life through You In Jesus Name Amen.
